Joaquin Phoenix'in başrolde yer aldığı Joker, En İyi Film, En İyi Yönetmen ve En İyi Erkek Oyuncu dahil toplam 11 dalda aday gösterilerek bu yıl en fazla Oscar adaylığı kazanan yapım oldu. Martin Scorsese'nin The Irishman'i, Quentin Tarantino’nun Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'u ve Sam Mendes’in 1917'si de 10'ar dalda Oscar'a aday gösterildi. En iyi film için dokuz film yarışacak.
